Air Expeditionary Wing Analysis [Rehearsal & Training] System (AEWAS )

In October of 2002, the Air Force Expeditionary Force Battlelab (AFEBL) awarded IMC a fixed price contract to develop a prototype training system for the Expeditionary Operations Center (EOC). IMC delivered the system in February 2004, and demonstrated the extensibility and flexibility of the system by training members of a Survival and Recovery Cell (SRC) stationed at Hulbert AFB. Ten minutes prior to the training the host requested that 3 new trainees and 3 additional roles be added within the SRC. IMC personnel reconfigured the system in the available ten minutes, and the training proceeded as scheduled.

In March of 2004, IMC was awarded a contract to enhance the AEWAS prototype and deliver it to EOCs in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. The first delivery was made in April of 2004, and a second delivery with additional system enhancements was made in October of 2004.

The Air Expeditionary Wing Analysis [Rehearsal & Training] System (AEWAS) is an Air Expeditionary Wing (AEW) training and rehearsal tool designed and fielded to improve the overall operational efficiency, survivability, and lethality of deployed air expeditionary wings. Although originally proposed to the Air Expeditionary Force Battlelab (AEFB) as an initiative to provide wing level analysis capability, AEWAS has evolved into a rehearsal and training tool. AEWAS is versatile and can be used in a number of scenarios and platforms designed to support Theater Battle Management Core Systems - Unit Level (TBMCS-UL) training and rehearsal. The current version of AEWAS was designed, developed, and deployed as a training and rehearsal tool to familiarize Expeditionary Operations Center (EOC) and Unit Control Center (UCC) personnel with EOC processes using TBMCS-UL functionality.

In its operational state, AEWAS is deployed as a web-based command and control (C2) scenario-driven training and rehearsal tool which enhances EOC and UCC capabilities to effectively manage the daily operations (and Survivability and Recovery activities) of deployed organizations through their EOCs.

This Windows web based application is highly flexible and adaptable and can be utilized in stand alone, networked, or Web based configurations. It is easily configurable and designed to support any scenario or work center for optimum training interoperability. Its base training configurations and capability provides for enhanced Force Protection, Battle Management, Situational Awareness, and Command and Control. AEWAS is an innovative web-based technology that could be adapted to conduct training with existing human resource courseware.
