Video Resumes (V-Resume)
In the fall of 2000, a spin-off company of a large California corporation approached IMC with a request to design and implement a Web site that would support production, deployment and access to video resumes. The company had a disjointed list of required functions and other miscellaneous requirements, and wanted an operational site in less than five months.
Less than two weeks later, IMC had structured the user requirements, developed complete functional requirements by user role, developed a list of essential data elements and designed a complete data model. In less than four months, the company designed and implemented the entire system, using Oracle 8i, XML, Cold Fusion and JAVA. This effort included a Web based production capability, job seeker and employer access and browsing capabilities, and functionality for three different administration roles. IMC also developed a stand-alone application for acquiring the text part of the resume and integrated the system with a major e-commerce company. This later capability required IMC to employ encrypted data transfers over the Web using XML. The entire project cost less than $175,000.
