The AV/VTC engineer will assist in managing audio-visual systems and VTC infrastructure for both large- and small-scale projects for a highly visible and high-profile Department of Defense (DoD) customer.

Work Location: Onsite in Arlington, VA, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, based upon the needs and direction of the customer. 

Basic Required Qualifications and Skills:  Note: These are mandatory items that all candidates must have when submitting an application to IMC for this position.   • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution OR in lieu of a bachelor’s degree:
    • High school diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience.
    • Associate’s degree plus 2 years of relevant experience.  
  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in VTC environment.
  • At start date, must possess an IAT level II certification in ACTIVE status:
    • CCNA Security
    • CySA+
    • GICSP
    • GSEC
    • Security+CE
    • CND
    • SSCP
  • Proficient in a wide range of audio-visual and VTC systems:
    • Crestron control panel systems
    • Extron
    • Biamp
    • Christie
    • Planar
    • Cisco/Tandberg VTC systems
  • Strong understanding of IP networking concepts, including subnets, routing, DHCP, and DNS, and capable of configuring and troubleshooting basic network connectivity issues.
  • Physical requirements of lifting and/or pulling up to 40lbs., sitting, bending, and standing.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to support incoming customer support calls and emails.
  • Analytically inclined with attention to detail and accuracy, and consistent follow-through to assure problems are resolved, with the ability to respond to last-minute requests.
  • Identify and articulate key information in an efficient and timely manner, and exercise discretion and independent judgment when handling situational occurrences.
  • Analyze and recommend alternative solutions to meet customer needs, while building credibility and trust with customers.
  • Identify areas of opportunity to improve customer satisfaction and demonstrate excellent multitasking and time management skills.
  • Support the team process and participate in cross-functional teams, in a fast-paced and ITIL transitional environment.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:  It is desirable that the candidate have the following qualifications:

  • Any of the following certifications:
    • CompTIA Network+.
    • Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)
    • Cisco Certified Technician (CCT)
    • Certified Technology Specialist in Installation (CTSI)
  • Experience with:
    • Remedy trouble ticket systems.
    • Cisco CMS, CMM, and Expressways skills
    • Working in a Government/Military environment. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This position will include, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Provide guidance on best practices, innovative AV solutions, and process improvements.
  • Create detailed recommendations, flow diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for audio-visual upgrades and technology refreshes.
  • Maintain and update documentation, including user manuals and conference room setup guides, ensuring clear, accurate, and accessible information for users and staff.
  • Understand IP networking concepts, including subnets, routing, DHCP, and DNS; capable of configuring and troubleshooting basic network connectivity issues related to audio-visual systems.
  • Conduct comprehensive site surveys to assess customer requirements for audio-visual and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems.
  • Monitor and operate professional broadcast equipment during high-profile events such as town halls, promotions, and retirement ceremonies.
  • Provide photography services for official ceremonies.
  • Coordinate and manage VTC scheduling with global agencies.
  • Support preventative maintenance activities.
  • Set up and install equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards (TRI-Caster) for events and functions such as promotions, meetings, etc.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot VTC Infrastructure and associated equipment.
  • Maintain VTC calendars for scheduling of audio-visual resources.
  • Assist customers with point-to-point and multi-point VTC conference and audio conference sessions
  • Assist customers with bridging for classified and unclassified point-to-point and multi-point VTC conference sessions, audio conference sessions, and troubleshoot accordingly.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Responsible for handling after-hours on-call support (when necessary).
